STEPHANIE LAMONT
Stephanie LaMont is a photographer, video producer, and creative director currently based in Portland, Maine. Her exploration of liminal space makes her work singular: finding the moments that sit distinctly at the apex of public + personal, formality + play. She carefully approaches subjects from a photo-ethnographic lens. Her composition considers social, political, and cultural factors in order to create honest and intimate storytelling — without propagation.
A few of her projects have included:
photographing at-risk youth basketball programs in Alamare, Cuba
documenting biodynamic and socio-economically safe spaces for physically marginalized communities in Kahare, Nepal
researching the concept of Italian territory through the LugoLand Artist Residency Award alongside international artists including Guido Guidi, Olivio Barbieri, + Graciela Iturbide
elevating stories of sexual assault survivors from Bamako, Mali, who seek small business loans, grants, and development support
building out years-long digital marketing campaigns for a k-12 educational nonprofit in Boston, MA (campuses included Yale University, Wellesley College, and Wheaton College)
Stephanie currently resides in Portland, Maine, with her partner, fridge full of pickles, and a competitive habit of gamify-ing everything. While not creating, she coaches women’s lacrosse at the University of Southern Maine, and dog walks. Grabbing tight to all the things she loves and rolling with this life.
Note: Stephanie has made an intentional decision not to use social media for business promotion.
